Old Seiko Divers Watch Regulation & Cleaning
This watch arrived in poor condition, understandable given its age. Everything was noticeably off, so we carried out a full inspection and measured its performance using a timegrapher. It was clear the watch needed some attention.
We gave it a thorough cleaning, replaced the gaskets, and regulated the movement, which improved the amplitude. However, we advised the customer that the amplitude remained on the lower side due to a few underlying issues, primarily, the watch had never been serviced. This had caused wear in the pivots, and the mainspring was due for replacement.
The customer was pleased with the improvement following regulation and appreciated the transparency regarding the watch’s condition and future needs.
Old Seiko 5 Watch Project
This watch was sent to us after work by another watchmaker, but unfortunately, it came back with several issues. The dial had been damaged due to the improper use of superglue to attach the indices ring. Additionally, the wrong dial spacer was installed, leaving the movement loose inside the case and causing the rotor to scrape against the case back.
We’re now carefully restoring the watch to its former glory, taking the time to correct each issue properly and bring it back to the standard it deserves.
